How Our Garden Grows – July 2014
It’s the end of July, which is the typical time our garden really takes off. This year is no different. The plants that started well in May are doing great & many are now being harvested.

Not too many changes or happenings this month in our aquaponics system. The fish and the plants are growing nicely.
Hatch #8 was our last incubated hatch for awhile. It was a last effort to get a few more Marans. Last year we sold all the chicks we hatched, which meant we didn’t have any left over for ourselves. This year we hatched many more & will keep a few.
It’s amazing. Summer’s really here & my flowerbeds are at their peak.
This spring the kids & I tried out a new activity: letterboxing. I had vaguely heard about it and decided to look more into it. Well, it’s a treasure hunt similar to geocaching, involves rubber stamps & takes us to new places. Win, win, win!
