Spring is here & many of our summer birds are showing up. That just makes me happy.

The same thing happens every spring. The western bluebirds & violet-green swallows show up at the same time & fight over the bird houses in my bird village. The swallows seem to be at these particular houses more often. That is, until the bluebirds chase them off. Once the bluebirds leave, the swallows come back… until the bluebirds chase them away again. I don’t understand it since there are a number of birdhouses close by, but it is entertaining to watch.

I’m not positive this is the correct ID for this bird. Hopefully, I will spot it again & take a better peek.

I managed to spot 3 new birds around our house this week: the Western Bluebird, American Goldfinch & the Yellow Warbler.
